Today is a special day! It’s the 21st anniversary of the day Tech Guy and I got married! (Why yes, I WAS a child bride 😉 )
So…I thought y’all might enjoy a few fun facts about my wedding:
- We were married at a hotel in College Station, Texas (Gig ’em, Ags!).
- My wedding dress was three sizes larger than my normal size to make sure I had enough room for my boobs. The tailor had to take gobs of material from the hips and waist.
- I cut off about a foot of fabric from the dress’s hem to make the bow for my veil.
- The bride’s cake was covered in cream cheese frosting. Well, it’s hot in Texas in August, and the icing began to melt (inside the hotel ballroom!). We had to pull out an entire layer of the cake so the whole thing wouldn’t slide into the floor.
- We had six each bridesmaids and groomsmen (hey, overkill is normal in the South!).
- The wedding color was green because we were originally planning for a December wedding.
- We honeymooned in Bryson City, North Carolina and are returning to the same little hotel next month to celebrate this 21st anniversary!
