Title: Flirting with Forty
Author: Jane Porter
Genre: Romance, Women’s Fiction
Why Flirting with Forty is a Red Hot Read: This book by Jane Porter isn’t hot off the press, but was published in 2006. I even had it on my shelf for two to three years before it called to me. But once it did, all I wanted to do was sink into a tub of hot water and finish it. It’s a story about divorce, resilience, joy, passion and forgiveness. Porter took a common enough occurrence, a woman’s divorce in her late-thirties, and made it into a story of personal triumph. If you know someone who’s recently divorced, this might make a lovely get-back-on-your-feet gift.

Today is National Tortilla Chip Day. It’s Friday, so why not celebrate by whipping up a big ole plate of messy nachos? I like mine with Colby or Pepperjack cheese, black beans, grilled chicken, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole, and chopped green onions.
