I’ll admit I was bummed on Sunday. This was my first Mother’s Day since my mom passed away late last May. Not sure why, but it hit me harder than her birthday did.
My guys, however, tried to make it into a special day for me—primarily through food – LOL. The brunch menu (served at noon because Smarty Boy sleeps so late these days!) was sweet potato crepes, fruit and candied bacon (unfortunately, Smarty Boy lost a bracket trying to chew it.)
Dinner was four courses. Caprese salad, jalapeño/olive tapenade and bread, shrimp and salmon pasta with pesto and crazy-rich s’mores tarts. I’ve included pictures here for your gustatory pleasure!
