You may be relieved to know this is my last bag post (for a while, at least). After much poking, prodding, and primping, I decided to keep the Lug Mambo Sun Tote. Although it’s not super glamourous (but let’s be honest, none of my three choices were), the bag seems to work well as a day-to-day schlepper.
What I’m not crazy about:
- I found almost no inside pictures of this bag online, probably because it’s a relatively new release from Lug
- The inside lining is a little “loose”
- It has double over-the-shoulder straps rather than one adjustable strap
- I ordered directly from the LugLife website, and found their return process to be a PITA (I returned a wallet and wristlet.)
- No exterior drink holder pockets
What I love about the Mambo Tote:
- Plenty of pockets
- Key fob, with included keychain. I’ve already tossed my old, heavy one
- It’s uber-light, so great for a travel bag
- It has not only a strap to attach it to your roller bag, but also velcro in the center that keeps the bag from twirling around and sliding off
- Gadget pockets are lined with soft fabric
Since I was unable to find great pics of this bag, I wanted to share some here so anyone considering the bag could make a more educated choice than I was able to.

The bag has three external pockets on the front. Top one is secured with a hidden magnet and is large enough to hold a magazine or iPad. Middle pocket closes with zipper and is shown in more detail in another photo. Smallest pocket has a zipper and is large enough for passport and boarding pass.

Middle zipper pocket on front of bag includes two lined gadget pockets and two pen holders. Still plenty of room to store my wallet here.

Back of bag includes strap that will slip over the handle of a roller suitcase. Very handy. Large zipper pocket is large enough for a spiral, but doesn't seem deep enough for a file folder.

Main interior compartment includes this zipper pocket on one side. Flip over the pocket to reveal a mirror on the other side.

Other side of interior pocket includes three open pockets of progressively smaller size, the key fob attachment and a mesh pocket.

Close up of the three interior pockets. I think they should've located the key ring on the other side of the bag because here it interferes with access to the pockets.
