Some Brain Candy readers might know that my family had planned to live on either coast for the 2012-13 school year. Well, as with so many things in life, plans changed. While we were overseas this summer, Smarty Boy and I talked a ton about school, his education, and being away from his dad for 10 months. Ultimately, we decided not to stay in California, but to move to Georgia with Tech Guy and let Smarty Boy homeschool for the year (more on that adventure to come!).
So I wanted to share with you a few pictures of our new digs. One person has already commented, “It’s looks very Deliverance.” It’s true, we’re living on four wooded acres in semi-rural Georgia. Bad Dog loves the small creek and slinks off to play down there whenever he thinks he can get away with it.
But the funniest thing about the place we rented is that it looks nothing like any other house I’ve ever seen. It’s been likened to a wine cask, Noah’s upside down arc and in my mind, a hobbit house.
So I wanted to share a few external shots today, and I’ll give you the quirky interior deets soon.
What do you think, Brain Candy readers, what the heck should we call this place??

This week is National Singles Week. So if you’re single and you like it, clap your hands. As much as I love Tech Guy and Smarty Boy, there are days when singlehood sounds good. You know, those days when I’m running all over town, cooking dinner and doing laundry. Then, when I have a few days away, I can’t wait to get back to them. Bet a bunch of you know exactly how I feel!
