Today, Brain Candy is hosting another fabulous contemporary romance (and romantic suspense/thrillers) writer. Tracy March released her debut book, The Practice Proposal, in March. And me, being a sucker for baseball books, snatched it right up! Also – Tracy offered up an extra special deep track excerpt that’s actually the practice proposal! (Another link to the excerpt later in the post!)
Welcome, Tracy!
What’s the name of your latest release and a one-line description of the book?
The Practice Proposal – When a charity auction date with a sexy pro baseball player ends with a fake proposal, what could possibly go wrong?
Describe the book’s hero in three words.
Smokin’. Hot. Athlete!
What do you love most about writing contemporary romance?
I really enjoy writing the part of the story when the hero and heroine are noticing and appreciating every little detail about one another—right about when they’re too smitten to see that they just might be headed for trouble before they find their happily-ever after.
What’s the last contemporary romance you read that you loved?
I got a sneak peek at one of Nancy Naigle’s upcoming titles, Pecan Pies and Deadly Lies, and really fell for it. It was definitely her hot country-singer hero, Cody Tuggle, who did it for me!
Reader question from Amy Remus: Do you model characters after people you know?
No, but I’ve threatened to! 😉 I enjoy creating my characters from scratch. That’s not to say that I haven’t seen a quirky tendency of someone’s and given it to one of my characters, or borrowed some good and bad personality traits from people—even from myself! I suppose I build characters like a Mr. Potato Head. I’ll take different pieces and parts and arrange them to make totally unique people that I hope readers will relate to.
Do you have any extras or sneak peeks available for readers? Here’s a deep track excerpt that’s actually the practice proposal!
Thanks so much for having me as a guest here at Brain Candy, Kelsey. It’s been sweet hanging out with you and your readers!

Award-winning author Tracy March writes romantic thrillers influenced by her career in the pharmaceutical field, and her interest in science and politics. She also writes lighthearted romances inspired by her real-life happily ever after.

Today is Talk Like Shakespeare Day! Wahoo! I have to admit I’m more a fan of Will’s comedies than his tragedies, but I’m one of those weirdos who loves the guy. To celebrate, here’s one of my fave Shakespeare quotes: There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
