Hey, y’all! I’m thrilled to host Rebecca J. Clark, author of several fun and fabulous contemporary romances–sometimes steamy, sometimes sweet, but always satisfying. Becky is especially near and dear to my heart because she and I have been “checking in” with one another for the past 2+ years about our weekly writing progress. We cheer each other on and sometimes cajole when one of us isn’t doing what she should :-). Today, Becky’s going to chat with us about her latest release!
Welcome, Becky!
What’s the name of your latest release and a one-line description of the book?
SHAMELESS. “She’s everything he never wanted.”
Describe the book’s hero in three words.
Redeemed. Strong. Caring.
What do you love most about writing contemporary romance?
I like to read stories about people who could be my neighbors or best friends, because then it’s easy to put myself in the heroine’s shoes and really escape into the fantasy.
What’s the last contemporary romance you read that you loved?
Ice Cold by Cherry Adair (okay, so it’s romance suspense/adventure, but it’s contemporary!)
Reader question from Amy Remus: Do you model characters after people you know?
No, not really. But I do have a funny story. I originally wrote Shameless years ago, and used a male model/bodybuilder (not the icky, veiny kind) as my inspiration. That model was all over fitness magazines back then, became an American Gladiator… and now his sister works out at my little gym. Small world, eh? (I haven’t told her yet that her brother was the inspiration for John. It might give her the “eewww” factor. LOL.)
Anything else you’d like to tell readers? I’m currently working on a short prequel to Shameless, that I hope to have out within the next month or two.

Shameless:
Haunted by a tragic accident 20 years ago, John Everest knows he doesn’t deserve a family of his own, so he spends his days building the most successful fitness franchise in Seattle…and his nights alone. But that all changes when Samantha Rossi storms back into his life.
Happily single, Samantha feels there are only two types of men in this world: those who are good for nothing and those who are good for one thing. Now she needs that one thing desperately, because she wants a baby. John, a man from her past, is the perfect donor. He doesn’t want children. He doesn’t want a wife. He just wants her body. She can deal with that.
John agrees to Samantha’s no-strings-attached proposal, never expecting to fall for the fiery beauty he’d wronged so many years ago. It’ll take more than a shameless proposal to overcome their tragic past, but with a little luck and forgiveness, anything is possible.

This week is National Window Safety Week. So when you open those windows to let in the fresh spring air, please be careful. You never know when one of those suckers could accidentally slide shut while you’re half-in, half-out. And I can promise you, no one looks good with her trunk stuck hanging out of a window!
