Yes, since moving to California, I’ve gone over to the dark side. Embraced the Ugg craze. To my inexperienced eye, it appears Uggs are the shoe my mom’s been looking for her entire life, the shoe that goes with everything.
Last year, I bought Tech Guy a pair of Ugg slippers for the holiday with the caveat he must wear them for twenty years. (Just like his old pair of Land’s End slippers that Smarty Boy calculated cost a fraction of a cent each day for my husband to wear.) Tech Guy has flaunted his cozy Ugg slippers ever since, even boldly wearing them to the airport for business travel.
If you’ve always wanted a pair of Uggs, but felt heart palpitations come on when you looked at the price tag, I might have a beacon of hope for you. Do you wear a ladies size 8 or smaller? If so, then you can order from the kids’ section! The same basic ladies slipper costs $100, but the kids’ version is only (yes, I know, only) $60. If you wear a size 7, order a kids’ size 5 and so on.
