Men. As Abby Ruth from In For a Penny says, “You can’t live without ’em, and it’s illegal to shoot ’em.” Sometimes around the holidays, though, I’m tempted because not only do I have Christmas to contend with, but both my guys also have birthdays in December.
Stocking stuffers for guys can be especially challenging, but we’ll hit that topic in another post. My thoughts are that guys prefer one or two really good gifts as opposed to a pile of stuff they’ll toss in their closets and never look at again.
I stumbled across this company while reading MacWorld and since Tech Guy is…well…a tech guy, I figured it was a match made in heaven. These Scottevest shirts and jackets have all sorts of hidden pockets where guys can store their gadgets. And hey, if it makes them feel a little like Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, that’s probably good news for the women involved with them ;-).
Live in a cold place where your guy needs to blow off steam inside? (Yeah, you can give him that too, but we’re going PG-13 today, okay?) This ESPN 2-Player Basketball game looks pretty cool.
Another Sam’s Club find is this Leather Tablet Chair. I imagine the tablet table would also work for a keyboard. Hmm…maybe I need to put this on MY wish list.
If you’re looking for something your guy can share with other guys, check out this Magic Hat Beer Gift Basket. He’ll be a very popular person the day after Christmas! Or how about a beer sampler paddle and glasses?
Or if he’s big into cycling and recycling, consider this cool toiletry kit made from bike inner tubes!
And, of course, books are always appropriate. How about The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide: Recovering the Lost Art of Manhood? If he’s more into fiction, Tech Guy is a fan of Lee Child and Harlan Coben. Smarty Boy is (re)reading the Veronica Roth Divergent series right now.

November is National Georgia Pecan Month. What’s your favorite dish to cook with pecans? (And do you say pee-cans or pah-cons?)
